FilmScene's popular Animation Camp is back with a special edition for the grown ups! This weekend camp offers two-days of hands on creating for lifelong learners, age 18+. No previous experience is required, as campers will work in teams to create their own animations totally from scratch. From claymation and traditional stop-motion puppet making, to light painting and full body animation, students will make mini-movies and come away with an understanding of what is possible in animation.

Taught by Mark Jones, camp is held at FilmScene on the Ped Mall, 9:00AM - 3:30PM Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 with a 30 minute break each day for lunch (not provided - campers can go off site or bring from home) Complimentary popcorn provided, of course! All materials and technology provided by FilmScene.

Mark Jones taught art in the Iowa City schools for seven years. In that time he directed many student-made animations. The Robot and the Butterfly won several awards, including Best Animation and Audience Choice at the Iowa Indie Film Festival. He is now a full-time freelance artist and production designer, working on films, cartoons, and video games. He recently worked as lead artist on the award-winning film Rain with HCT.Media and the Jim Henson's Creature Shop artists. Mark has been teaching Animation Camp at FilmScene for over four years.
