Small-time crook Michel (Jean-Paul Belmondo) steals a car and murders a policeman. While on the run, he reconnects with Patricia (Jean Seberg), a journalism student living in Paris, and tries to convince her to escape with him to Italy. So the groundwork is laid for one of the most influential films in cinema history, oft-imitated but never replicated. Breathless, an early example of the hip French New Wave, is a non-stop thrill featuring star turns by Seberg and Belmondo (who passed away in September at the age of 88), strikingly sharp black-and-white photography from lauded cinematographer Raoul Coutard, and then-revolutionary jump-cutting. Director Jean-Luc Godard melds it all together to form one of the absolute coolest films ever made.

Restored in 4K from the original camera negative by Studiocanal and CNC at L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory (Bologna).
