Donna Everhart interviews Susan Beckham Zurenda about her new book, No Way Out but Through. After a long career teaching English to teens and adults from all backgrounds, along with her own accumulated years and a lifetime of reading literature, Susan Beckham Zurenda thought she was aware of most human circumstances. Until she met and interviewed the woman who inspired this novel, she was ignorant of the prevalence and potentially devastating consequences of child marriage in the United States. Susan hopes that readers will be captivated by this novel of two women from different generations—one the victim of an abusive teen marriage and the other damaged from her former marriage to an alcoholic husband—who meet under odd circumstances. Through their willingness to be open and vulnerable with each other, both women begin to trust and heal—to believe in themselves—in this novel of the resilience of the human spirit. Books will be for sale at the event through The Country Bookshop.

Join us for a day of shopping, entertainment, and holiday cheer. Pop Up in the Pines hosts the Holiday Market at Weymouth Wonderland! Tour the Boyd House decorated for the holidays, buy holiday decor in the Holiday Shop, grab a treat and a warm drink from our Bake Shop, visit Santa, shop local vendors and artisans, enjoy popular area food trucks, listen to the sound of the holidays from local performers.

Led by internationally acclaimed drummer, composer, and educator Ari Hoenig, the Ari Hoenig Trio brings a fresh and inventive approach to modern jazz. Known for his unique ability to weave melody and rhythm together, Hoenig has performed with some of jazz’s most celebrated artists and is recognized as one of the genre’s most innovative drummers.

Guitarist and composer Baron Tymas brings a dynamic blend of modern jazz, blues, and groove-driven improvisation to the stage with his acclaimed quartet. Known for music that is both sophisticated and soulful, Tymas creates performances that are melodic, adventurous, and deeply engaging. His compositions draw from a wide range of influences while remaining firmly rooted in the jazz tradition. This special performance features pianist Brandon Mitchell, a Weymouth audience favorite whose expressive playing and inventive improvisations have captivated listeners in past appearances. Together, the quartet delivers an evening of compelling original music, inspired interplay, and the kind of musical conversation that makes live jazz unforgettable.
