The Women of Weymouth meets on the first Wednesday of the month from September to May. Each meeting features an invited speaker or program. Social time begins at 11:00. The business meeting begins at 11:15 am and is followed by the month’s featured speaker. November's feature is a holiday fashion show by Monkee's of the Pines. Luncheon will include pizza, salad, and dessert.

Donna Everhart interviews Susan Beckham Zurenda about her new book, No Way Out but Through. After a long career teaching English to teens and adults from all backgrounds, along with her own accumulated years and a lifetime of reading literature, Susan Beckham Zurenda thought she was aware of most human circumstances. Until she met and interviewed the woman who inspired this novel, she was ignorant of the prevalence and potentially devastating consequences of child marriage in the United States. Susan hopes that readers will be captivated by this novel of two women from different generations—one the victim of an abusive teen marriage and the other damaged from her former marriage to an alcoholic husband—who meet under odd circumstances. Through their willingness to be open and vulnerable with each other, both women begin to trust and heal—to believe in themselves—in this novel of the resilience of the human spirit. Books will be for sale at the event through The Country Bookshop.

Step inside the historic Boyd House for a very special afternoon where music and history come together. The TrebleMakers, part of the Carolina Philharmonic Junior Orchestra program, will take us down memory lane with a performance inspired by the history of the Boyd House and the generations who have gathered within its walls. For this unique Chamber Series performance, these talented young string musicians will fill the Great Room with music while guests discover stories from the remarkable history of James and Katharine Boyd and their Southern Pines home. Join us for an afternoon celebrating our history, music, and the next generation of musicians keeping both alive.

Galen Miller will debut her second golf book, "View From The Ladies Tees," on Dec 3 at 3pm in the Great Room at Weymouth Center. Before moving here, she spent 30 years in the tourism industry in Orlando Florida, where she created the Arabian Nights Dinner Attraction which seated 1000 people and featured a show with 60 horses in a play about true love. Ironically, her golf clubs were instrumental in the early success of the Orlando venture, the details of which are revealed in many of the golf stories in her book. She has been part of the golf scene all around Moore County participating in leagues, charity tournaments and often just being paired with other golfers. Her first book, "The Little Book of Golf Etiquette," has been described as one of the most important books ever written about the game. Registration is free. The Southern Pines Book shop will be present with books available for purchase and Weymouth Center will have a cash bar available for attendees.

Led by internationally acclaimed drummer, composer, and educator Ari Hoenig, the Ari Hoenig Trio brings a fresh and inventive approach to modern jazz. Known for his unique ability to weave melody and rhythm together, Hoenig has performed with some of jazz’s most celebrated artists and is recognized as one of the genre’s most innovative drummers.

Guitarist and composer Baron Tymas brings a dynamic blend of modern jazz, blues, and groove-driven improvisation to the stage with his acclaimed quartet. Known for music that is both sophisticated and soulful, Tymas creates performances that are melodic, adventurous, and deeply engaging. His compositions draw from a wide range of influences while remaining firmly rooted in the jazz tradition. This special performance features pianist Brandon Mitchell, a Weymouth audience favorite whose expressive playing and inventive improvisations have captivated listeners in past appearances. Together, the quartet delivers an evening of compelling original music, inspired interplay, and the kind of musical conversation that makes live jazz unforgettable.
