Without a doubt one of the most joyously exhilarating musical comedies of all time, Richard Linklater’s SCHOOL OF ROCK cuts Jack Black loose in what is maybe his finest role, as shambolically unsuccessful rock guitar big-dreamer Dewey Finn, who frauds his way into a substitute teaching gig at a prestigious prep school in order to scam some rent money. But Dewey finds himself so impressed with the talent of his grade 5 students, that he makes it his mission to school them in the power of rock’n’roll, and compete for glory in the upcoming Battle of the Bands.
We are beyond thrilled to announced that two student groups from the “Rock Band” program at the Koffman Academy of Music & Dance (our Roncy neighbours at 15 Roncesvalles Ave) will be performing on stage before the film!
