Description

Tirtza Even uses documentary film, a gallery installation and an interactive online archive to challenge the inequities in the U.S. juvenile justice system by depicting the stories of five individuals who were sentenced to Life Without Parole for crimes they committed as youth. Their background and their potential for rehabilitation were never taken into account at any point in the charging and sentencing process. The U.S. is the only country in the world that allows Life Without Parole sentencing for youth. -JM
