Award-winning Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura continues his evocative exploration of popular song and dance through various traditions in Argentinean music: zamba, baguala, chamamé, chacarera, cueca, malambo, and many more. Shot as a live performance in a warehouse in Buenos Aires, Saura uses minimal but stylish sets to bring the music and accompanying dance to vivid life. Although the premise of this documentary is simple—music and dance unencumbered by narrative or narration—its execution though complex visual choreography and captivating performances is as rich and engaging as anything else in the festival.

"The film's aesthetics combine a sense of the country’s rich heritage and seeming ancestral suffering." - Variety
