Finding a very sweet balance between humor, self-reflection, serendipity, and soju (all trademarks of Hong Sang-soo’s work), Right Now, Wrong Then flirts with the idea that one small gesture or one simple phrase can change everything. Chun-su (Jung Jae-young) is a film director who travels to a small film festival to do a Q&A. Arriving a day early, he meets Hee-jung (Kim Min-hee), and they spend the afternoon and evening together only to have things go very wrong. Rewind. Try again. Take two. Hong gives Chun-su another chance in the same scenario with hilarious results. Right Now, Wrong Then won the Golden Leopard, Best Actor, and Special Mention at the Locarno Film Festival.
