Three women are introducing a new sport to Iran: SURFING. All three share a belief in the power of sport, especially surfing, as a way to break down barriers and connect with others. This is the beginning of a brand new surf culture: They are making history by encouraging Iran's female surf pioneers, and planting the seed, synonymous with surfing, of freedom and creative self-expression. They plan to make every wave count.

Additional Information

Marion Poizeau has documented environmental and social issues in places as diverse as New Zealand and Kurdistan in Iraq. In 2010, Marion traveled through Iran in the Middle East, filming with Easkey Britton, who became the first woman ever to surf in Baluchistan in Iran. The impact and critical acclaim of the short film inspired Marion to return with Easkey in 2013 to film her feature documentary, Into the Sea.
