"Voices of Light” merges the legendary silent film masterpiece The Passion of Joan of Arc with a live performance of an incredibly moving composition for solo voices, chorus and orchestra by American composer Richard Einhorn. Carl Th. Dreyer’s 1928 film is considered by critics to be simply one of the 10 greatest films ever made. With its raw emotional power, its naturalistic acting and an utterly contemporary visual style, The Passion of Joan of Arc is a haunting, unforgettable film. Concert performed by the Oratorio Society of Minnesota and the Oratorio Society Orchestra and Soloists, and directed by Matthew W. Mehaffey.
