Fantasia Film Festival Review: Bob has a problem. His job at the paper mill is going nowhere. His ex-wife keeps goading him to reconnect with a teenage daughter he hasn’t seen in eight years. On top of all that, Bob is blackmailed into working as a drug mule for a shady crook named Crisby. But that’s not the real problem, at least not on the surface. You see, Bob is slowly turning invisible.
The Unseen, written and directed by Geoff Redknap, is about a man who is literally losing everything. I think we can all identify with that. We’ve all felt invisible at one time or another. We’ve all had trouble mentally or emotionally “being there” for other people. If that all sounds butt-numbingly existential, don’t worry. The Unseen has plenty of spine-tingling thrills too.
