Description

Joud (Hadi Bou Ayash) is a young sound engineer living in Beirut who meets and falls in love with an actor, Rana (Ruba Zarour). After working together on the set of a film, they develop an immediate connection despite coming from different social and religious backgrounds. When an unexpected accident puts Rana in a coma, Joud, afraid of losing her forever, must find new ways of communicating his love to a woman who may be incapable of hearing. A complicated love story told through flashbacks, Listen (Ismaii) uses creative sound mixing and music to capture the intricate connections between Joud’s emotional life and the shifting landscapes of modern-day Lebanon.
