In a peaceful stretch of forest outside the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil, a deer steps into a hunter’s crosshairs, a trigger is pulled and a young tourist nearby falls to his death... igniting a powder keg of greed, power and violence in this gripping new thriller from co-writer and director Sebastian Cordero (Europa Report, Cronicas). When the alleged shooter is revealed to be the wealthy landowner, Emilio Baquerizo (Daniel Adum Gilbert), the trial exposes his ambitions to develop the land, razing the impoverished shantytown of Talia Toral in the process. But with the vast fortune of unscrupulous business titan Don Gustavo (Erando Gonzalez), the duplicitous, smooth-talking lawyer Lisandro (co-writer Andres Crespo Arosemena), and an easily influenced jury led by assistant D.A. Ingrid Cedeño (Maya Zapata), Talia Toral’s residents aren’t going to be removed without a fight, setting up an explosive confrontation in a land where everyone has their price.
