Alexander Beyer, Piano

Alexander Beyer, 23, has received warm praise for his performances nationally and internationally. In 2016, he received Third Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and was named one of five finalists of the American Pianists Association Awards. Recently, he has been a guest soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Royal Orchestra of Wallonia, and the Irish National Symphony Orchestra. Recent performances have brought him to Greece, Slovakia, Holland, Belgium, and across the United States. He has studied with Yoshie Akimoto and Matti Raekallio. He is currently studying with Wha Kyung Byun and Russell Sherman at the New England Conservatory, having graduated in 2017 with a BA in Mathematics from Harvard.

Sasha Scolnik-Brower, Cello

Cellist and conductor Sasha Scolnik-Brower is currently completing his final year of the Harvard College – New England Conservatory Dual Degree program in the studio of Paul Katz, having previously studied with Natasha Brofsky and Andrew Mark. He was a first-place winner of the Boston Symphony, Boston Youth Symphony, and the New England Conservatory Preparatory competitions, as well as a finalist in the Stulberg International String Competition. Sasha has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Boston Symphony, Boston Youth Symphony, NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Wellesley Symphony, and the Nashua Chamber Orchestra. Sasha has played in the masterclasses of Joel Krosnick, Lynn Harrell, Alisa Weilerstein, Yo-Yo Ma, and Menahem Pressler, among others. He has attended festivals including Marlboro Music Festival, Kneisel Hall, Yellow Barn, and the Perlman Music Program.

Somin Lee, Clarinet

Somin Lee is an active clarinetist in both the United States and South Korea. She has performed as a soloist with the Seoul National University Orchestra, the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with the New England Conservatory Orchestra. From 2015-2016, Somin was a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, and was invited back in 2017 to perform as a part of the contemporary music festival. Somin has also performed as a member of ensembles such as the Bucheon Philharmonic Woodwinds Ensemble, the Korean Symphony Woodwinds Ensemble, the Euro-Asian Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, and the Seoul National University Orchestra. She has won first prizes in the New England Conservatory Concerto Competition, the Seoul National University Woodwinds Competition, the anpa National Competition, and the Music Journal National Competition. In 2014, her woodwind quintet was chosen as one of the winners of the NEC Honors Competition. Somin studies with Dong-jin Kim in Korea and is currently completing her Graduate Diploma at NEC studying with Thomas Martin.
