Description

Sing Song is an uplifting musical film about a 16-year-old Dutch girl on a secret quest to find her mother. Jasmine works in the flower shop with her devoted dad who refuses to discuss his past or her South American birthplace, Suriname. When Jasmine and her best friend Stijn are scouted for a singing contest in the former Dutch colony, she jumps at the chance to reconnect with her roots and dreams of finding her birth mother.

Telling her dad that she’s gone on a school trip to Berlin, Jasmine sneaks off to Suriname. Upon her arrival, Jasmine is torn between the chance to develop her artistic self with the talented youth group and the search for her mother. Following her mother’s trail starts to derail Jasmine’s chances in the contest as well as her relationship with Stijn. Going solo, Jasmine must find her own voice in her lost mother’s land.
