Description

Due to weather, the April 14, 10:00pm screening of Good Manners at St. Anthony Main Theatre has been postponed. New screening date/time: April 29 at 9:20pm.

A werewolf story, Good Manners mixes fantasy and horror to make for a thoughtful commentary on class and belonging. Reserved Clara needs a job, and finds one with the wealthy Ana, a pregnant woman living alone in a vast apartment. At first, Ana looks down on Clara, hoping to force her into the role of a servant rather than an equal. What happens instead is an undeniable attraction, and from the two women’s bond, the tone is set for a bizarre events that lie ahead for Clara, Ana and Ana’s soon to be born child.

Directors Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra utilize a mash-up of genres to tell the story of Clara, Ana and Ana’s son that takes the audience on a unique ride. Along with fantastical themes, Good Manners explores the nature of prejudice due to superficialities like class, skin color and social standing and how, in spite of them, love can bloom.
