Writer/director Santiago Mitre has crafted a high-stakes political drama that brings an array of powerful leaders together in one place, an event that can—and does—lead to scandal. When fictional president of Argentina Hernan Blanco (played by famed actor Ricardo Darin) arrives in Chile to participate in a political summit, he hides his inexperience with a firm stature and an “everyman” persona that has earned him favor among the public. While Blanco tries to maintain his image, the political and personal collide—a scandal with his daughter threatens to derail his carefully crafted persona.
Director Mitre creates this political thriller with a pulsing thread, and we as an audience watch both the rising tensions among the politicians, and the national—and international—stakes at risk of being undone with every word spoken.
