Description

Special Advance Screening

Born September 13th, 1939, Joel-Peter and Jerome Witkin are identical twins, but that is only one small aspect of their respective lives. Joel-Peter is a world-renowned photographer while Jerome is a celebrated figurative painter with Pulitzer and Guggenheim honors under his belt. In this irreverent portrait of their lives, we follow Joel-Peter and Jerome throughout their history and day-to-day worlds.

A film shot over the course of four years, Witkin & Witkin examines the lives and careers of two men who were born together, but whose respective roads took vastly different courses in later years, each with his own unique artistic gaze, medium and philosophy. In a film about aging, art and shared histories, director Trisha Ziff casts a thoughtful lens on the Witkins’ childhood, careers and present lives, all while recognizing the value of the unique bond they share.
