The KPK BDU, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bomb Disposal Unit, is at the front lines of the war in Pakistan. This film by Geeta Gandbhir and Asad Faruqi follows a squadron of men determined to protect their home against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban and their daily fight to keep Pakistan standing while facing increasingly dangerous odds. These men, risking their lives with each moment on the front lines, defuse terrorist bombs with their hands while fending off incoming fire.
The enemy is a familiar face, sharing the same language and religion—a fact that leads to an even more startling realization. The war, an effort helmed by Americans, has lasted 15 years and cost thousands of civilian lives. At heart, Armed with Faith tells of a group of men and their bravery, but also offers direct insight into the devastating consequences of war.
