Description

Special Guest Cory McAbee Attending

Deep Astronomy and the Romantic Sciences is an enthralling and delightful live performance piece that explores, through Cory McAbee’s singularly imaginative lens, a wide range of science and astronomy-related topics. Combining enchanting visuals, mesmerizing lectures and brilliantly catchy songs from his Small Star Seminar album, this toe-tapping, genre-defying sci-fi musical/slide show/lecture is simultaneously the most fascinating college science course you never had and the catchiest pop concert you’ve been dying to go to for years.

A cult sensation known both for his music and film work (American Astronaut), writer/director/actor/musician McAbee is an American original. While the lectures in Deep Astronomy, which manage to be light hearted and introspective at the same time, may not contain a whole lot of provable hypotheses, no matter; it’s how they unleash the human imagination that counts. Besides, Cory has even had a quantum theoretical scientist come up to him after one of his lectures and tell him, “I know you’re joking, but you’re right.”

If you know McAbee’s work already, then Deep Astronomy is an event that can’t be missed, and if you don’t, then there is no better way to experience this iconoclastic artist at the height of his creative powers. Either way, you need to be here to experience this unique journey into the vast unknown.
