From filmmakers Julie Cohen and Betsy West, this documentary feature showcases the life and lasting influence of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, also known as RBG and “the notorious RBG.” With unprecedented access to Ginsburg, the filmmakers chart her life as she grows up in Brooklyn, pursues an education, falls in love, accepts an appointment to the Supreme Court, and establishes a friendship with the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Ginsburg’s spirited determination throughout her life and career have earned her the label of “notorious” both in politics and the wider public discourse. As a history making public figure, she has become notorious through her championship of women, her persistent work ethic, and her commitment to democracy. In a truly inspiring film, Cohen and West have crafted an illuminating portrait of the now 84-year-old Ginsburg that reveals the personal side of one of the most important actors on the US legal and political stage.

"This spry celebration reveals that the real Ginsburg is neither beast nor badass, but an even-tempered, soft-spoken mediator - not typically the traits that inspire rousing high-fives." - Variety
