Description

Tickets to Rochester screenings will be sold at the door.

Vele, a train yard worker, has been secretly feeding his father a mixture of spices and headache medicine in place of his unaffordable cancer medication. One day, Vele and his coworkers are assigned the job of locating a stash of marijuana supposedly hidden on one of the trains in the yard. Much to his surprise, Vele finds the hidden cache, but decides to keep it rather than report it.

Hoping to turn the drugs into some quick cash, Vele instead finds out the hard way that he has neither the connections nor the street smarts to sell the drugs. Out of options, he decides to put the herb to DIY medicinal use—in the form of a magic cake. Hoping only to quietly ease his father's pain, but rumors of Vele’s baking skills start to spread. Director/writer Gjorce Stavreski's feature film debut is nothing short of a genius blend of family drama and dark comedy by way of a drug caper.

Press

"Although on the surface, this is a crime caper, the film works most satisfyingly as a study of the abrasive but loving relationship between father and son" - Screen Daily
