Presented by MSPIFF, the Minnesota Music Coalition, FilmNorth, and the American Composers Forum, Piano Hero and Superfriends is a visual wonder in the form of a live musical event. Experimental music artist Carrie Henneman Shaw plays a diverse range of experimental interactive films with live music, each film reaching for a spectacular new depth of sonic-visual dialogue. Performers and creators showcased include: pianist Mabel Kwan, Belgian composer Stefan Prins (Piano Hero), pianist Frederik Croene, video artist Klaas Verpoest, American composer Erin Gee, and UK-based Costa Rican composer Mauricio Pauly. A truly collaborative event, Piano Hero and Superfriends is an exploration of sight and sound that can be described as nothing short of a awe-inspiring, innovative work of cinema.
