In the early ‘70s, a group of misfits gravitated together, forming an arts community fueled by surrealism, free jazz, and the general upsetting of the order in their conservative, football-loving Southern town. Many of the members have gone on to impressive careers in music and art, one member in particular, “stripmine crooner” Fred Lane, has became an urban legend.
