Original Title: Au revoir là-haut
Winner of 5 César Awards (the French Academy Awards) including Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Costume Design.
Adapted from Pierre Lemaitre's Goncourt-winning novel Au revoir là-haut by writer/director/lead actor Albert Dupontel, See You Up There is a raucous death-defying post-WWI era caper. In November 1918, before the Armistice, Edouard Pericourt (award-winning actor Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, BPM), a gifted artist, saves the life of Albert Maillard (writer/director Albert Dupontel), a humble bookkeeper. The two men have nothing in common apart from their experience of war and their hatred for Lieutenant Pradelle (Laurent Lafitte, Elle), whose order for one final absurd attack shatters their lives. The three of them put in place their strategies for survival. While Pradelle goes on to make his fortune on the backs of the dead, Albert and Edouard, condemned to live, come up with their own monumental scam.
