Braxton makes his second appearance on the Mars Theatre stage.  His opening act will be an acoustic guitar duo featuring Kent Wells and Scott Bass.  Kent is a seasoned guitarist and publisher in Nashville working with Dolly Parton, Lee Greenwood, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire and more.  Scott, Kent and Braxton have been collaborating on songs and will perform several of them during the show.

At an early age, Springfield native Braxton Calhoun displayed interest for entertainment by performing skits for his family and at the local church.  His first big performance, which would later become known as the turning-point in his life, was during his high school graduation. It had only been one year after 9/11, and Braxton performed the song “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” by Alan Jackson in front of thousands of people. “Everyone stood up, clapped and cheered. I had never experienced anything like that before. That’s when I knew I wanted to pursue a career in music."

Braxton Calhoun is a country artist looking to rattle a few cages with his rockstar attitude and blow-your-speakers country style. He brings a level of southern-bred authenticity that trumps all the country wannabes. Braxton’s major influences range from Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks to Breaking Benjamin and Fetty Wap. These influences seep through to his music with foot stomping rock riffs and his smooth, groovin rhythm style, Braxton is one artist you definitely need to look out for in years to come.
