Description

Richard II, King of England, is irresponsible, foolish and vain. His weak leadership sends his kingdom into disarray and his court into uproar. Seeing no other option but to seize power, the ambitious Bolingbroke challenges the throne and the king’s divine right to rule. This visceral new production about the limits of power stars Simon Russell Beale (Mary, Queen of ScotsThe Death of Stalin) as Shakespeare's Richard II and is directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins (Little RevolutionAbsolute Hell). Captured live from the stage of the Almeida Theatre in London.

This production does not include an intermission.

The Friday 4/5 screening features English subtitles as part of our accessibility initiative.
