Description

A tragic and mesmerizing reflection on the Khmer Rouge genocide, its casualties and those left in the wake of the aftermath, Rithy Panh's unforgettable Graves Without A Name is unflinchingly bold in its real-life representation of a horrifying history. Panh's has devoted the majority of his filmmaking career to exposing and meditating on the reality and devistating effects of the Khmer Rouge regime that plagued Cambodia in the 1970s. In this film, we accompany a young boy as he searches for the unmarked graves of his relatives, a journey that is a raw, physical ordeal, as well as a spiritual quest for a semblance of closure.
