In this poignant story of empowerment and acceptance, the free-spirited Sibel (the award-winning Damla Sönmez) lives with her father and sister in a secluded mountain village. Ever since a fever struck her as a child, she's only been able to communicate in the ancestral whistled language used in the region. Although her father is the village mayor, Sibel feels like an outsider in her own community and many of the women and girls shun her as if she is cursed. Determined to win approval, she sets out to hunt a wolf haunting the neighboring forest and crosses paths with a fugitive, another outcast, but one who looks at her and sees a desirable woman. Directors Zencirci and Giovanetti give this beautifully shot film the primal feeling of a fairy tale.

Guillaume Giovanetti was born in Lyon, France. He frequently collaborates with his wife, Çagla Zencirci.
Çagla Zencirci was born in Ankara, Turkey. She has collaborated with Giovanetti on the films Ningen (12) and Noor (13).
