From acclaimed Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty, Il Divo) comes the story of media giant and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his Loro ("them" in Italian), a league of businessman, politicians and others who comprise his bafflingly corrupt community. Loro's unforgiving portrait of billionaire politician-tycoon Berlusconi (played by Riccardo Scamarcio) finds him and his crew in the maelstrom of the hedonistic corruption they arguably created, the film itself offering a sobering look into a world that rarely concerns itself with the ethics of ordinary people. Fraught with scandals, Berlusconi’s career, in both media and politics, was as astonishing as it was littered with illegal activity. As some grow closer to Berlusconi’s inner, others leave it. Berlusconi is a brazen character who remains accustomed to getting what he wants, which makes the film’s movement towards his downfall both poignant and satisfying.

"Loro is the definitive Paolo Sorrentino film to date. It’s brash, stylish, and silly. It oscillates back and forth between horny and human, profound and misguided. It’s a glorious mess." - The Wrap
