Filmmakers Luke Lorentzen and Kellen Quinn Attending!
Luke Lorentzen's second feature documentary follows the Ochoa family, who have dedicated their careers to the service of others. Running an ambulance in Mexico City, the Ochoas must contend with EMTs patrolling the same areas in order to make their living. While they are committed to their work, the reality of making an income in the city against increasingly difficult odds is not lost on the Ochoas. When a police crackdown forces them to start legitimizing the business, the Ochoas face even more hurdles–the pressure leading them to compromise ethics in order to continue providing care. Highlighting the current government and healthcare climate, Midnight Family examines the true costs faced by emergency responders like the Ochoas, who must regularly navigate the responsibilities they have to each other and to the people they save.

Press
"[T]he film achieves a powerful measure of suspense that’s intricately tied up in its despairing sociological depiction of a system that’s come apart at the seams." - Variety
