Description

Mike Wallace virtually invented the hard-hitting television interview and brought investigative journalism to primetime with the path-breaking 60 Minutes. This richly layered, warts-and-all portrait takes us back through Wallace's unparalleled career and reveals the complex man behind the tough guy image. Stringing together clips from Wallace's 60 Minutes segments, director Avi Belkin weaves together a stunning history of Wallace's career, including his brazen approaches to his interview subject and unflappable determination to uncover the stories that mattered. Rich with archival material, Wallace's interviews included a wide range of powerful voices, such as Bette Davis, Larry King and Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling. But beyond the interview themselves, the doc illustrates how Wallace's work may have influenced a slew of real-world events, for better and for worse.
