A remake of Paolo Genovese's hit film of the same name, Manolo Caro's Perfect Strangers starts with a house party amongst friends. The dinner party consists of newlyweds and longtime couples alike, each person bringing their own quirks to the table. Six of the seven guests have all known each other for over two decades, but just how deep those friendships are may very well change over night when one of the party's hosts, Eva, proposes a game. She asks each guest to put their smartphone on the table. For each text that comes through, the guest will read it aloud, and every call will be taken in front of the rest of the group. While the rules are simple enough, what ensues is a hilarious mixture of shock and realizations as it becomes clear that none of these long-term friends know each other as well as they assumed.
Director Biography
Manolo Caro is widely-known for creating, producing and directing the hit Netflix series, House of Flowers (18) in addition to a prolific career writing/directing comedy features.
