An animated feature from Brazil uses oil paintings, digital and graphic animation to portray a vibrant futuristic, sci-fi fantasy about a shy ten-year-old boy, Tito, on a mission to save the world. Tito's dad Rufus is a scientist whose latest invention goes awry at a critical moment when an epidemic sparked by human fear threatens the planet. Rufus mysteriously disappears and so does his valuable research on bird songs. Tito is convinced that these occurrences are connected to the cure. But fear spreads quickly and humanity's survival is in danger. Tito's mom is terrified for his safety and her protective instincts threaten the mission. As the only one to understand, Tito goes into the unknown with his friends, Sarah and Buiú. The kids must solve the mystery of his father's disappearance, find the birds, and stop the plague of fear, without falling prey to fear themselves.
Director Biography
Gustavo Steinberg has produced six feature films, directed two and written the screenplay for four movies since 1995. Before co-directing Tito and the Birds, Gabriel Bitar worked on title sequences and animations for several TV shows and feature films in Brazil. Gabriel is a partner at Veranito, an animation studio based in São Paulo. André Catoto Dias, award-winning shorts director, founded animation studio DnA.tv.br in 2011.
