Summer resident and Nantucket honeymooner Jane Condon is bringing old friend Christine Hurley, “The Queen of Boston Comedy,” to the Dreamland Theatre for her annual show. Fun fact? Both comedians went to Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, Mass. Christine has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, every club in New England, and several times at Boston Garden for Denis Leary’s Comics Come Home. (Last November, she got a standing ovation from the crowd of 7,000.)

Jane is also pleased to bring a new friend (they met at the Women in Comedy Festival 2019) Emily Winter. This young Brooklyn-based, Wisconsin-educated standup writes for the New Yorker, NPR’s “Ask Me Another,” TV Land, Fusion TV, and Glamour. Jane fell in love with Emily when she read her New York Times piece called “I Got Rejected 101 Times.”

Since last year, Jane won the 2018 Spirit of Comedy award (along with Kelly MacFarland and Carol Burnett), toured with Ladies of Laughter (New York, Virginia, Missouri, Iowa) and performed at fundraisers for Planned Parenthood, women veterans, and mental health.

She has no grandchildren. She’s thinking of ordering one on Amazon.

(A portion of the proceeds will go to A Safe Place--Nantucket’s answer to domestic violence.)
