Description

All three Bonanza events!

1. Shoot It In 360/VR: ”State of the Tech” from the EXPERTS

Stand out as an artist. Shoot your next project in 360/VR, then submit it to Sundance New Frontier.

Steve Miller (The Great C), and Andrew Cochrane (Disney’s Pandora 360/VR experience, Google’s Spectra, USA Network’s Mr. Robot VR) will be on site, speaking on the current state of 360 and VR. This medium continues to gain stream as hardware gets better and cheaper, and production tools and techniques improve.

Cameras are more affordable, consumer headsets are higher quality and more prevalent, film festivals are featuring the content. How can you as an indie filmmaker embrace it? What are the differences in producing traditional vs. VR? What are the best and most accessible cameras? Will you go fully animated, or live-action 360, or volumetric? What editing and VFX tools are available? What is the production pipeline?

2. Shoot It In 360/VR: Hands-on Production Lab

Featuring Andrew Cochrane (Disney’s Pandora 360/VR experience, Google’s Spectra, USA Network’s Mr. Robot VR).

Your footage, your project. Our actors, our cameras, our studio. Your script (or ours, if you prefer). You’ll come away from this lab with your own 360/VR short.

3. VFX for Indie: Hands-on Production Lab

Featuring Andrew Cochrane (Disney’s Pandora 360/VR experience, Google’s Spectra, USA Network’s Mr. Robot VR).

Our actors, our cameras, our studio. Your project, your script (or ours, if you prefer). You’ll come away from this lab with your own VFX shots.

Green screens, crowd tiling, compositing, color correction: VFX staples that every indie filmmaker needs access to. Jumpstart your skills with practical experience and hands-on instruction from industry expert Andrew Cochrane (Disney’s Pandora 360/VR experience, Google’s Spectra, USA Network’s Mr. Robot VR) through a keynote and two sessions of actual VFX work. Bring your own script (or use one of ours) and video actors performing on a green screen, then import the footage into Resolve/Fusion (a step up from After Effects) for editing and VFX.

Steve Miller, director of The Great C, exists at the center of where art and technology meet. His 37 minute The Great C animated VR narrative, based on the Sci-Fi novel by Philip K. Dick, premiered at Venice VR in 2018 and is hailed as an “early triumph in VR storytelling.”

Andrew Cochrane works in the intersection between emerging, interactive technologies and film. He has a long list of directorial and technical credits for clients including Disney, Google, Sony, HP, IBM, Coke, Audi, and Nintendo.
