The program includes new documentary shorts: In the Land of My Ancestors and Save West Berkeley Shellmound, featuring trailblazing Ohlone women leaders Ann Marie Sayers (Costanoan Ohlone) and Corrina Gould (Confederate Villages of Lisjan), who are creating pathways for Ohlone people to reclaim their ancestral lands, spirituality, and culture.

We will be joined by beloved Ohlone elder, Ann Marie Sayers, her daughter and artist, Kanyon Sayers-Roods, Native scholar and CEO of the Cultural Conservancy, Melissa Nelson, and the producer of In the Land of My Ancestors, Rucha Chitnis. After the screening, we will explore a conversation on how communities in the San Francisco Bay Area can listen and learn from the leadership of Ohlone women and California Natives. What would restitution look like? How do we build bridges for deeper understanding and healing as we live on stolen homelands of Ohlone people, who continue to fight for their rights and dignity and keep the stories of their ancestors alive.
