Description

Experience a nature documentary as you’ve never seen or heard one before. Presented as a series of live performances that take their cue from largely forgotten approaches to storytelling about nature, Nature’s Nickelodeons reinvents the heroes, villains, sounds, and spaces of nature broadcasts. Curated by Dr. Amy Culter, the performers leap from beatboxer to harpist to historic technology and to artificial intelligence. In their adaptations of old nature docs, they question the familiar anthropomorphic storylines and give new meaning to classic sounds and images.

  • Sheffield Doc/Fest – Official Selection
  • International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam – Official Selection

Amy Cutler will also be giving a talk 'Scales of Home' about Nature’s Nickelodeons on Friday 27th at 7:30pm at 518 Gallery (free admission).
