Daniel meets the twin of his deceased wife and tries to win her heart by learning tango together.

About the Director
Sonja Strathearn is a visual artist who discovered her passion for filmmaking later in her career. She was born in the USA, raised in Australia from her childhood and returned to the USA with her husband and children to follow her husband's research career first in Texas, then in Iowa.

Director's Statement
There was a time when I was obsessed with Argentine tango and I understand what draws people physically and emotionally to the dance. I'm also intrigued by people's back stories and their desires, the layers of one's past. Last Chance Tango involved my local tango community in Eastern Iowa, and my real tango teacher from Houston, Texas, Joan Bishop. Although this story is created from my imagination, it is true that all tango dancers have their own tango story, like a love story and usually not what they expect. This is also a realistic story of what it is like to be a beginner tango dancer in a small midwest community. It's not Dancing With the Stars. It is about connection. It is about failure, but also about hope.
