With a 6-month-old baby whose father works abroad, 22-year-old Sara is doing all she can to keep her head above water. She takes public transit between low-paying jobs, but remains eager and confident. Enter Manuel, her father, fresh out of prison, seeking to re-enter his daughter’s life.

To make matters worse, the state has denied custody of her 7-year-old half-brother, and the re-emergence of the thief of the title (her father) complicates her life. Anchored by Greta Fernandez as Sara (whose performance won her Best Actress at the San Sebastian Film Festival) and Belen Funes’ razor-sharp direction and script (with Marçal Cebrian), A Thief’s Daughter is not to be missed. “Steals your heart.” --The Hollywood Reporter
