Candice Phee has a unique view of the world. Even though her family has forgotten how to be happy and kids in school can be mean, the unstoppable Candice’s relentless optimism and innovative plans bring happiness to her seaside Australian town.

When eccentric, hilariously sincere Candice meets a new boy, Douglas Benson From Another Dimension, she finds a kindred spirit. Both are outsiders at school with peculiar oddities that mutually attract. Coping with real struggles, the darkness of family loss and division, the kids believe in a better world and are going to prove it using their most imaginative sensibilities. Featuring dynamite performances by Australian newcomers Daisy Axon and Wesley Patton, H is for Happiness is Wes Anderson-like with superb art direction, dry-witted deadpan comedy, and a little romance. Based on the acclaimed YA book My Life as an Alphabet by Barry Jonsberg. Recommended for Age 11+ (Deb Girdwood)
