Opening Presentation
Special Video Introduction by Lead Actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal
Sonja Wigert is one of Norway’s greatest actresses, starring in a number of films in the 1930s, and winning worldwide acclaim. When the war breaks out, she finds herself in neutral Stockholm, until her father is imprisoned, forcing her into a game of cat-and-mouse with the Nazis.
Sonja knows she cannot stay completely neutral. Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels has his sights on her, as he sees cinema as the best way to spread propaganda, and Sonja is the perfect image for these films. Soon Nazi officer Josef Terboven has fallen for her, and, with the threat of her father’s imprisonment hanging over her head, he convinces her to be a spy for the Germans. But is she? For Sonja has already been working covertly for the Swedes, and now this counter-spy has got the role of a lifetime… one that may cost her everything.
