SNEAK PREVIEW
A documentary exploring female sexual desire and the ways in which society both ignores and actively suppresses discussion of the clitoris and women’s desires, The Dilemma of Desire is certain to inspire, amuse and confront.
As the filmmakers note, “there can be no equality without equality of pleasure.” Too often political and religious forces keep women from expressing themselves sexually, and this in a modern world that celebrates men’s sexuality nearly everywhere. Noting that even the word “clitoris” is, for some, literally unspeakable, it is barely discussed even in sexual education programs from the most liberal schools As the filmmakers ask: “How different would our world look if women’s libidos were taken as seriously as men’s?”
