FilmScene is excited to partner with the Iowa City Downtown District and the Bijou Film Board for a series of outdoor films in Iowa City's Northside neighborhood.

Join us after sunset on the 200 block of N. Linn Street for this free series - see below for event and safety guidelines.

A 15 minute preshow will begin at sunset (approximately 7:56) with the film to follow.

The story of a recuperating news photographer (James Stewart) who believes he has witnessed a murder. Confined to a wheelchair after an accident, he spends his time watching the occupants of neighboring apartments through a telephoto lens and binoculars and becomes convinced that a murder has taken place.

What to Know

Seating will be arranged for the film one hour before the presentation starts, and guests are welcome to claim a space. All seating is first-come-first-served.

Limited picnic table and restaurant seating is avaialble. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring chairs.

Support our Northside businesses by purchasing a meal or snacks for carryout to eat on the street. FilmScene Curbside Concessions are available for pickup at the Chauncey before the show.

Parking is available in the city lot between George's and Bluebird, as well as on the street.

Restroom availability is courtesy of participating Northside restaurants. Please help lighten the impact by using the restroom at home before and after the show if possible.

Safey Rules & Guidelines

When choosing your seat, please stay within the marked 6-foot circles, distanced 6 feet from other moviegoers. A circle can comfortably accommodate a couple or family of four.

Please stay within the group that you arrived with.

Keep your mask on at all times while walking through the space, masks are required during the film except when eating or drinking.

All interactions outside of your group may only be done wearing masks while distanced 6 feet apart from one another.
