Description

Bijou is proud to present two shorts by Georgian filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili - Invisible Spaces, and Lethe.

Invisible Spaces is a minimalist drama about a seemingly calm family that is ruptured by hidden tensions. Lethe is an observation of a quaint village through the eyes of a loney horseman passing through.

After the screening, Dea will talk with University of Iowa Film and Video MFA candidate Hao Zhou about her shorts and her recent feature film Beginning, which was selected as Georgia's official submission for the 2021 Academy Awards. If you wish to watch Beginning before the discussion, Bijou has partnered with the streaming service MUB to give viewers a free three month trail where they can watch Beginning and many other curated gems. Sign up and start watching at mubi.com/bijoufilm.

The screening is free for University of Iowa students, message Bijou on social media via email to claim your free student code!
