Director Biography
Martin Blanco is a Venezuelan-born filmmaker and photographer. Hailing from his immigrant background, his work often explores themes of identity, memory, and context, as well as how these ideas intersect and collide.
Martin's narrative and documentary work has been showcased by film festivals in the U.S. and abroad, as well as recognized by organizations like the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which awarded him five Regional NATAS Production Awards (2015-2016) and an Upper-Midwest Emmy nomination (2018). His photography and its surreal use of analog multi-exposure techniques has been featured by Lomography, Fujifilm, and Kodak, as well as photography journals like Uncertain Magazine and Float Magazine.
He is a Film & TV alum of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and he divides his time between New York City and Minneapolis.
