Al Milgrom founded the U Film Society, later renamed MSP Film Society, in 1962, and ran MSPIFF for several decades before pursuing filmmaking in earnest, finally completing his first feature documentary, The Dinkytown Uprising, in 2014 when he was 92. Al, who by then described himself as ‘the oldest emerging filmmaker in the world,’ passed away in late December, 2020, at the astonishing age of 98.
