Sid Vaga

Sid Vaga took control over the turntables in 1999 and since then never stopped. Based in New York's Lower East Side this French DJ with Caribbean roots, has played in countless NightClubs, Festivals and Afterhours from Berlin to Chile.

A House Music lover indeed, born in Paris; Lucky enough to overhear influences and cool music as the little brother of a pure funk and jazz-music seeker. Writing down names while going through his big brother's Music collection, Sid found himself in the middle of a bunch of fusion-jazz, funk, b-side disco, afro-beat, brazilian, latin and rap music.

Sid’s recent and notable release such as ‘Be As One’ featuring vocals by Roy Davis Jr., was signed to pristine electronic music label, Kling Klong Records (Berlin), and remixed by Toronto’s Nathan Barato (Hot Creations). That release turned some pretty big heads their way with support coming from the likes of Monika Kruse, Riva Starr, Josh Butler, Mat Joe to name but a few.

Shortly after Sid and his partner Herald made a collaboration with legendary Roland Clark, and found a home on My Favourite Freaks Records out of Germany. That release was remixed by Ibiza resident, Davina Moss (Roush records).

More recently Sid released on Spanish label My Little Dog ran by Sergio Parrado and Oscar barila, a two tracker remixed by renown producers Adapter (Hot Creations) as well as Robot Needs Oil.

Then relentlessly Sid released ‘Tell You What’, a roaring pick time dance floor hairy beast with an hypnotic TB303 line that will make you lose it. It came out on 33Music, and was remixed beautifully by label head Dan Mckie (UK). That release was in the top 100 techno charts for weeks!

Just before that on Dan’s other label 1980 Recordings, they put out a few monsters such has ’Need U’, ‘Machina’ and ‘Childish… All three were charted as well.

That Passion for making people dance took Sid to meet the crowds of Colombia, Cologne, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Barcelona, Mexico, Santo Domingo, Morocco and Serbia. His contagious music along skillful mixes has achieved him respect between colleagues and DJ Sets in EXIT Festival 2016 in Serbia, Châlet Club in Berlin, Batofar in Paris, Morocco and Tulum.

His positive vibe has been felt in the dancefloors of well known New York City venues like CIELO, PANTHER ROOM, PACHA NYC, LE BAIN, APT, and LOVE just to name a few.

Sid has shared stage along Roy Davis JR, Peter Kruder, Funk D’Void, YoKOo, Nickodemus, Timid Boy among others.

He is constantly in the studio making and releasing original tracks so look out for the shower of new tracks in this summer of 2021.

And here, in all the dark and loud underground clubs where the freaks come out to party, this is where you will find Sid Vaga: Behind the decks or just his sounds tirelessly streaming out of the speakers, like a hammer to the head, or like balm to the soul.

Either way, there is no way to escape Sid Vaga, this dynamic DJ is not just here to stay, he is here to spread dance floor hysteria!
