Tickets to this world premiere of “JUBILEE, JUNETEENTH & THE THIRTEENTH” includes screening of the film, and a panel discussion with the producer and special guests. A private VIP Reception will be held at the Museum of African American History, 20 York Street, beginning at 5:30pm catered by PPX Events with wines by Josh Wine Cellars.

The film will begin at The Dreamland’s Main Theater, 17 South Water Street, promptly at 7:00pm.

"Jubilee, Juneteenth and The Thirteenth," examines the influential but often overlooked role that African Americans played in the events that led to the abolition of slavery in the United States. It also explores why it took two years and six months after the end of the Civil War, before Blacks in Texas were emancipated, and examines the need to pass the Thirteenth Amendment to abolish slavery in the United States. Finally, the film will outline how the 14th and 15th Amendments were required to guarantee citizenship rights, the right to vote, and manhood suffrage.
