For waiter/musician Dani (Alex Monner), making a living covering the hits in the clubs and bars that line the Spanish seaside town of Benidorm’s main drag isn’t much of a life at all. The young singer fervently claims doesn’t want to waste his talents on covering other people’s material…but deep down, his disdain for covers and impersonators masks an intense fear of failure, driven by the sad fate of his parents, each of whom gave in to drugs and hopelessness. But when Adele impersonator Sandra (Marina Salas) and her Amy Winehouse-adoring cohort Margarita (Carolina Yuste, CARMEN & LOLA) come into his diner, Dani begins to sense his place within the global family of working musicians. With Sandra in town only for three weeks, the pair’s affection for one another grows and within the music running through their lives--including a joyous impromptu barroom medley of international hits that has to be seen to be believed—Dani realizes he must confront his fears in this fast, lively ode to youth, dreams and realizing that sometimes finding your own voice means playing someone else, from writer/director Secun de la Rosa, winner of the Young Jury Award at the 2021 Málaga Spanish Film Festival.
