"Shot with precision, written with elegance and unfolding at a thriller-like pace, A Hero should perform very well around the world."—Jason Solomons, The Wrap

"A deliciously ironic, exquisitely complex and mysteriously stirring tale."—Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal

"A truly compelling drama anchored by the remarkable central performance of Amir Jadidi."—Lee Marshall, Screen International

The latest from two-time Academy Award-winning director Asghar Farhadi (A Separation, The Salesman) follows Rahim, a calligrapher who has been in prison for a debt he is unable to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint against the payment of part of the sum with the help of his girlfriend and a scheme that might be too good to be true. As tensions mount and Rahim’s fortunes begin to turn, his newly attained reputation and his precious freedom rest precariously on a house of cards built on white lies threatening to collapse with the slightest wind of truth.
